The season
Late April to September, eighteen games each. Clubs are drawn into sections of ten graded by standard, so you play sides of your own level.
Never seen it played?
A wooden doll sits on a metal iron. You stand ten yards back with six blunt sticks and try to knock it cleanly off — clip the iron first and it doesn't count, which is where the arguing comes from.
Everyone throws six, three legs, most dolls wins. Two hours, entirely outdoors, much harder than it looks.
